The Links At Hunters Ridge is pleased to welcome to our team, Jan Brintnall, LPGA Professional.  Jan is  a skilled golfer, respected golf instructor, and an energetic ambassador and mentor for the game. Whether you are a new, intermediate, or advanced golfer, Jan provides golf programs for all ages and abilities. She offers fun and effective golf instruction that can help everyone learn to love the game

Jan teaches women, men, juniors and adaptive golfers. Her programs include private, semi-private, group and on-course instruction. She offers 3-day and 5-day golf schools that include unique programs for parents and kids, grandparents and kids, women, seniors, new and adaptive golfers.

Get to Know Jan Brintnall, LPGA Professional

Jan began golfing at age 5 and her love for the game grew from there. She captained Waverly High School’s first girls’ golf team in 1979 and went on to play for the Michigan State University Womens’ Golf Team from 1980-1984 under Mary Fossum.

A proud Spartan, Jan holds a B.S in Park and Recreation Resources, Planning and Design with an emphasis in golf course design. She brings a unique and lively perspective on course management and how to play the game.

Jan is the Site Director of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Mid-Michigan. This program prepares girls ages 6-17 for a lifetime relationship with the game of golf.  Girls learn the foundation and FUNdamentals of golf.  In turn, they gain the confidence to play recreationally with family and friends or competitively in high school and beyond.

Jan is co-faculty of a Michigan State University Education Abroad program at the University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. Jan’s program includes American and links style shot making and course management blended with how to use golf in business. She received a faculty appointment in The Broad College of Business to create BUS 491 Using Golf in Business, which is taught off campus near East Lansing as well as at the University of St. Andrews. 

Using Golf in Business is now a School of Hospitality Business specialized elective HB 420 The Business of Golf.  It covers the history and culture of golf; development and location of golf courses; financial, operational and legal considerations; golfer demographics, preferences and perspectives; golf tourism, how to use golf in business; proper golf etiquette; and the USGA rules of golf.
